Manado, N Sulawesi, July 10 (Antara) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is studying the partnership pattern of countries that are incorporated in the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) organization, an official said. .
"The study will assess whether BIMP-EAGA has a positive impact. It will also assess partnerships that are running well and those that needs to be encouraged," Head of North Sulawesi Province`s One Stop Service and Investment Office, Happy Korah, said here on Monday.
He explained that Indonesia was exporting products to a number of BIMP-EAGA countries and expected a balance to import products from other members.
"We will study profitable products to be exported, such as nutmeg. If exports to the European market is more profitable than to EAGA member, then we will do that. We will also study products that are suitable for the EAGA members` demands," Korah revealed.
He added that Indonesia has a very large potential in the field of fisheries, while the Philippines lags behind.
"We can offer a bilateral cooperation. The point is the partnership pattern among the BIMP-EAGA countries should provide mutual benefits, without any side loose anything," Korah pointed out.
