Manado, North Sulawesi, Aug 26 (Antara) - The Manado Travel Mart (MTM) to be held on September 2-3, 2017, is expected to improve the tourism sector in North Sulawesi Province, according to Manado Tourism Office spokesman Ferry Wio.
"The event is expected to have a positive impact on the tourism sector in North Sulawesi," Wio remarked here on Saturday.
He said an improvement in the tourism sector will be able to have a positive impact on the other sectors.
According to Wio, MTM 2017 is part of the grand Manado City activity of the Manado Fiesta 2017 that will help tourism industry players to meet each other and conduct business transactions in Manado.
"This will be a leading activity to be held annually," he explained.
The event will feature a variety of other activities related to the celebration of the anniversary of North Sulawesi Province, such as craft and book exhibitions.
MTM 2017 Committee Chairman Meity Ingkiriwang noted that all business players in Manado and North Sulawesi are expected to attend the event.
"We are also grateful to the Manado city government to agree to hold the MTM 2017 and to the governor and deputy governor of North Sulawesi who are supporting this activity," Ingkiriwang stated.
He said that until now, six countries -- the US, Germany, India, China, the Netherlands, and Australia -- have confirmed their readiness to attend the MTM 2017.
