
Three Flights Fail to Land at Hasanuddin Airport

Makassar (ANTARA Sulsel) - The management of Makassar's Sultan Hasanuddin international airport was on Wednesday forced to divert three flights to different airports because of bad weather over Makassar city.
Airport management company PT Angkasa Pura-I spokesman Kintoro said three airplanes which were supposed to land at Hasanuudin airport on Wednesday had to be diverted to Sepingang airport in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, and Ngurah Rai airport in Bali.
Kintoro said two airplanes diverted to Sepinggang airport were one of Merpati Nusantara Airlines (MNA) flight MZ 762 from Jakarta to Makassar, and one of PK Airfast, also from Jakarta to Makassar.
While the third flight which was diverted to Ngurah Rai airport in Bali was of Garuda Indonesia Airlines (GIA) flight JT 741 from Manado to Makassar.
"Since 9 this morning we diverted the incoming airplanes to Sulatan Hasanuddin airport here because of bad weather," Kintoro said, adding that three other airplanes were also forced to delay flight from Makassar.
He said the three planes which failed to depart Hassanuding airport on Wednesday were of Express Air flight XN 804 from Makassar to Manokwari in Papua, Sriwijaya Air flights SJY 565 and 591 for Surabaya and Jakarta.
But as of 1:15 on Wednesday afternoon local time the flights returned to normal.
