Manado, N. Sulawesi, June 21 (Antaranews Sulut) - The North Sulawesi branch of the state-owned Board of Logistic (Bulog) has continued to seek to create food price stability in the province.

"We will seek to maintain food price stability until the end of 2018," head of the North Sulawesi Bulog Eko Pranoto said here on Thursday.

Eko said the commodities sold by Bulog include rice, cooking oil, sugar and eggs at prices cheaper than in the market.

He said Bulog sells medium category rice at a price of Rp8,950 per kilogram, cooking oil at Rp12,000 per liter, sugar at Rp11,000 per kilogram and wheat flour Rp8,000 per kg and eggs at Rp45,000 per tray.

He said Bulog sought to maintain food price stability in the traditional markets not only in Manado but also in 15 other district municipal cities in the province.

"We would be ready to respond to any request from district administrations for price stabilization in their areas," he said.

He said Bulog has continued to coordinate with the provincial office of the Industry and Trade Service, and the food task force in monitoring price developments.

The initiative has succeeded in keeping the prices of essential goods from rising to beyond the normal level in North Sulawesi during the Ied ul Fitr celebrations, he said.

Bulog is committed to continuing providing the best service and will distribute rice aid among the people entitled to it, he said.

Bulog would move quickly to release its rice stocks in the event of shortage in supply in any areas, he added.
