Manado, North Sulawesi, May 14 (Antara) - Youth leaders in the Indonesian province of North Sulawesi have expressed support to the Indonesian Police (Polri) to combat acts of terrorism in Surabaya, East Java.

"We fully support Polri and the government to combat acts of terrorism," Winny Wowor a youth leader of the Minahasa Evangelical Christian Church, noted here on Monday.

Winny then called on other youth leaders to continue to uphold the spirit of unity and brotherhood and to not link Sunday`s bombings in Surabaya with religious issues.

In the meantime, James Moray, a youth leader of Kalawiran GMIM, remarked that they also support the government and state that should adopt an assertive stance regarding the Surabaya bombing cases.

"Together, let us combat acts of terrorism in the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI)," Moray noted.

Earlier, on Sunday morning, terrorist attacks on three Christian churches in Surabaya left 13 people dead and at least 40 others injured.

Attacks on the three churches at separate locations in Surabaya came only three days after a riot broke out at a detention center housing some 150 terror suspects at the police mobile brigade headquarters in Jakarta, leaving six members of the police`s anti-terror squad dead.
