Manado, N Sulawesi, July 30 (Antara)- Sub-regional Meeting on Foreign Terrorist Fighters and Cross Border Terrorism (SRM FTF CBT) held here on Saturday, agreed on establishment of a forum on FTF.

"We have agreed to set up a foum on Foreign Terrorist Fighters (FTF) in order to strengthen cooperation in information sharing and cooperation among legal enforcers and intelligent agents," Wiranto, coordinating minister for political, legal and security affairs, said here on Sunday.

ISIS is currently establishing bases in every country, particularly in Southeast Asia, he said.

To counter that strategy, six countries - Indonesia, Australia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam and New Zealand, have agreed to step up cooperation in the fight against FTF.

The Forum will facilitate closer cooperation in counterterrorism among the six countries.

One of topics discussed during the Manado meeting was global terrorism handling.

The six countries have common views regarding FTF, according to Wiranto.

"We agree to share intelligence information and develop technological system on intelligence information to facilitate global counterterrorism," Wiranto said.

The six countries would invite social media companies to take part in the fight against terrorism and radicalism to create peaceful and tolerant society, he said. ***2***
