Manado, N Sulawesi, July 29 (Antara) - Participants agreed here on Saturday to hold the second Sub Regional Meeting on Foreign Terrorist Fighters and Cross Border Terrorism (SRM-FTF-CBT) next year.

"The meeting in Manado this year is the first, and the next will be in 2018," Indonesia`s coordinating minister for political, security and legal affairs Wiranto said.

He stated that the date and place for the next meeting would be made known later.

Six countries to participate the meeting are Indonesia, Australia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Brunei Darussalam, and New Zealand.

Various cooperation agreements have been made in the meeting to fight terrorism in the Asia Pacific region.

The cooperation is needed to overcome the problem following reports and rumors that terrorism would be spread in all countries, especially countries in the Pacific region.

"Therefore, we must prevent it by uniting against it," Wiranto remarked.

ISIL has declared its wish to set up a regional caliphate, and current development in South Philippines has become a great concern.

That is why the Australian government has co-chaired the meeting here with Indonesia. The meeting was attended by ministers and senior officials for national security in the Philippines, Malaysia, .Brunei Darussalam, and New Zealand. ***2***
