Manado, N.Sulawesi, Sept 8 (Antara) - Governor Olly Dondokambey and Vice Governor Steven Kandouw participated in the Indonesia-Singapore Business Council (ISBC) Meeting and the Indonesia-Singapore Investment Forum in Singapore, Thursday (Sept 7), to promote tourism investment opportunities in North Sulawesi.

"Currently, we are developing Pall Beach Tourism Special Economic Zone in North Minahasa District with an investment value of Rp1.3 trillion," the governor said, as quoted by North Sulawesi Provincial Administration spokesperson Roy Saroinsong here, Friday.

Such investment will be used for constructing infrastructure, resorts, villas and hotels.

Some of the projects offered by the administration at the meetings are Manado Tourism Area, Bitung Eco Industrial Estate, Industrial Park, Manado Power Plant and Mdo Water Treatment and Supply.

Other projects include the construction of Lembeh International Airport, tourism development in Bolaang Mongondouw Raya area, and marine tourism in Kepulauan District.

The governor and vice governor have joined the Indonesian delegation to Singapore with President Joko Widodo to participate in the RI-Singapore Leaders Retreat 2017.

The ISBC and the investment forum, which was attended by President Widodo and Singapore Prime Minister Lie Hsien Long, as well as 300 Singaporean and Indonesian multinational companies, was held under the theme `Tourism Industry Development in Indonesia`.

Saroinsong said President Widodo and PM Long have agreed on cooperation in the field of digital economy and tourism, in the form of joint destinations, cruise ship operations, yacht development, tourism infrastructure development, and the development of Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions (MICE).
