Manado, N Sumatra, Oct 29 (Antara) - Budget airline Citilink Indonesia said it is ready to face tighter competition after the implementation of the Asean Economic Community (AEC) next year.

"We have prepared everything in facing AEC next year . We have gone through such experience of tight competition,"Albert Burhan, the president director of the subsidiary of the nation`s flag carrier Garuda Indonesia, said.

Albert said he expected greater challenges and tighter competition under AEC that would force the airline to give its best services to maintain nits market foothold.

"ASEAN member countries would adopt free market competition. It would be a challenge but at the same time an opportunity," he said.

He said Citilink is optimistic and very confident to remain competitive in services.

The airline will continue plan for expansion of flight service to more cities and increase flight frequency , he said.

VP of Corporate Communication of Citilink Indonesia Benny S Butarbutar said the airline carried 6.9 million passengers in the first nine months of the year or a 28.8 percent increase from 5.3 million in the same period last year.

Currently Citilink serves 110 routes with flight frequency of 214 every day . ***1*** (AS). 29-10-2015 11:35:44
