Jakarta, May 13 (Antara) -- The Indonesian city of Manado in North Sulawesi is projected to become a sustainable, large town that will offer an attractive and inspiring living and working environment.

The Manado city development program is based on the vision of the Lippo Group, one of Indonesia's largest conglomerates, to transform it into an attractive and fast-growing city where the needs of people and nature complement each other.

Monaco Bay, which is being developed based on the concept of a resort, will make the city of Manado comparable to the best international standard resort cities in the world, such as Monaco.

Monaco Bay will offer a "15-in-1" feature to make Manado city, which is already a popular marine tourist destination, an international resort town.

"We are committed to making Manado an international city and a major tourist destination of the world," CEO of Lippo Homes Ivan Budiono said in Manado.

He noted that they will continue to be committed to increase the confidence of the North Sulawesi provincial government in the seriousness of the Lippo Group to develop the city of Manado.

"We will transform the city of Manado into a pleasant international destination for visitors to keep coming back time and again," he emphasized.

Budiono remarked that the presence of the Monaco Bay resort that will provide attractive facilities as well as other advantages will make the regional economy grow further.

Furthermore, he affirmed that foreign tourist arrivals in the Indonesian province of North Sulawesi is expected to rise significantly in the coming years.

"The province of North Sulawesi has great tourism potential. Therefore, the government will continue to develop it to increase the number of foreign tourist arrivals," Budiono stated in Manado on Wednesday.

According to the CEO, this year, the central government is encouraging development in the eastern regions of Indonesia to counterbalance the growth in the western part of the country.

He noted that in cooperation with the government, the Lippo Group will help the North Sulawesi provincial city of Manado achieve integrated development in areas such as real estate, lifestyle, education, health, entertainment, and sports.

"The Lippo Group is committed to developing numerous tourist destinations in the city of Manado to attract both domestic and foreign tourists in the years to come," Budiono affirmed.

Moreover, he also pointed out that the corporation will help the North Sulawesi provincial administration develop tourism in the Bunaken Marine Park.

"The Bunaken Marine Park is beautiful, but we want to help develop and make it even more beautiful and attractive," Budiono stated here on Monday.

He added that the development of tourism in Bunaken Marine Park was in line with the expansion of Monaco Bay in the heart of the city of Manado, the capital of North Sulawesi province.

"Monaco Bay will have a marina to connect the city of Manado to the marine tourism attraction of Bunaken," Budiono explained.

He emphasized that Bunaken will be made more attractive, especially in terms of keeping the sea clean and improving transportation services to the location.

"Therefore, the presence of Monaco Bay is expected to have a positive impact on the regional economy, especially on the tourism sector," he affirmed.

Budiono gave his assurance that no one will be disadvantaged as the Lippo Group is committed to building the city of Manado into a key destination for foreign tourists.

Chief Marketing Officer of Lippo Homes Jopy Rusli pointed out that Monaco Bay will be the company's first integrated property project to be developed in Manado.

The Lippo Group, a leading developer in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, has launched its latest prestigious initiative, an integrated development project in the prime "Boulevar" CBD (Central Business District) of Manado, North Sulawesi, called "Monaco Bay" Manado Resort City, a luxurious integrated resort, with a value of Rp6 trillion.

According to Rusli, Monaco Bay is the largest and latest development in eastern Indonesia and is the only project that will be developed using the lavish integrated resort concept.

Monaco Bay, which will be developed on an 8-hectare plot of land, was designed by a team of international architects, with eight landmark towers planned to be built.

He revealed that the Monaco Bay resort in Manado will have an integrated resort, a luxurious Lippo Mall, five-star hotel Lippo, a lifestyle office,  Cinemaxx, the new X-Zone, a private members' club, the Lippo World Expo, a grand chapel, a lifestyle promenade, international schools, international Siloam hospitals, helicopter services, guest houses, and a marina port.

"We already know that North Sulawesi, especially Manado, as the center of corals in the world, has established itself as the primary marine tourism gateway in Sulawesi and eastern Indonesia," he added.
This factor has become increasingly favorable due to support from the government through a joint regulation issued by Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya and Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Indroyono Susilo at the end of 2014.

They issued a permit, which is scheduled to come into effect in 2015, to ease tourist yacht visits by creating a one-stop online service with the support of the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Transportation and the military.
"We expect this policy to expedite the establishment of a luxurious, world-class resort in the region and to have foreign tourists not only 'pass through' our seas but also make Manado their major tourist destination," Rusli noted.
